  • Department of Information Technology, Government of Jharkhand is committed to use ICT to transform its functioning to build Citizen-centric, inclusive and development oriented information society by transforming its functioning to provide services to the common man in a cost-effective, transparent and easily accessible manner. With a view to leverage Information and Communication Technology (ICT) opportunities as part of its agenda for Good Governance under the National e-Governane Plan (NeGP), the Government of India (GoI) has mandated state governments to submit a comprehensive e-Governance Roadmap for the state. The state is a leader in roll-out of NeGP roadmap with flagship projects like JharNet, CSC, e-Nivandhan, e-Kalyan, etc.

    In the year 1951-52 a new set up in the general administration of the then Union Territory of Manipur came into existence with the setting up of the Territorial Council. Till 1960 the Manipur Administration and the Territorial Council had full control over the educational activities. In 1960 when Imphal Municipality was established a part of primary education, particularly in the municipal areas was transferred to this local body. The Union Territory of Manipur got the separate status of a state on 21st January 1972. The state’s policy on education is based on the national policy that emphasizes on universalisation of elementary education.The Department of Education has the power of supervision and inspection, framing of curriculum and syllabi and selection of textbooks. At present, the Education Department of Manipur has four different entities viz.Department of Education (University and Higher Education), Department of Education (S), State Council of Educational Research and Training, Government of Manipur and Department of Adult Education. The Department has launched progressive schemes and programmes for its school and higher education community.

    The Directorate of Higher Education, NCT of Delhi was established in the year 1997 to promote higher and professional education in the entire capital region. Prior to this, the Directorate of Education of Govt. of NCT of Delhi was looking after Higher Education in addition to the school education (Secondary and Senior Secondary Education). Since its inception, the Directorate has become a role model for the promotion of Higher Education in the entire National Capital Territory (NCT) region. The Department has so far taken several steps for promoting higher education in the state. It has established several institutes of excellence including Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and twenty-eight Govt. sponsored colleges. The Directorate has launched various schemes for students including scholarships, coaching facilities and sports facilities. The Directorate of Higher Education dreams in the coming years of imparting quality college education to the younger generation of the NCT region.

    Government of West Bengal
    The Urban Development Department previously known as Metropolitan Development Department concentrated only on development of infrastructure in the Kolkata Metropolitan Area to implement the Govt. Policy of providing appropriate basic civic services to the people of the area and bringing down the ongoing tremendous pressure on the existing infrastructure of Kolkata Municipal Corporation by way of doing balanced urbanization between the Kolkata Metropolis and the neighbouring small and medium towns. Later, to meet the challenge of fast urbanization of different areas of the State coming up with their fast increasing density of population, necessity arose to integrate the urban development of the Kolkata Metropolis and such fast growing populated localities of the state by a process of decentralized and balanced urbanization together with good governance of the agencies responsible for achieving sustainable urbanization under a single umbrella.

    Town & Country Planning branch of the Development & Planning Department. and the Urban Land Ceiling branch of the Land & Land Reforms Department were later tagged with the Metropolitan Development Department and was renamed as Urban Development Department.

    Kerala State Information Technology Mission (KSITM) is a Society registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary Scientific & Charitable Societies Registration Act (Act 12 of 1955). It is an autonomous nodal IT implementation agency for Department of Information Technology, Government of Kerala which provides managerial support to various initiatives of the Department. Their main objectives include interfacing between the Government and the industry, interacting with potential investors, strengthening the IT/ITES industry base, holding promotional campaigns for hard selling the state, ICT dissemination to bridge the digital divide, e- Governance, developing Human Resources for IT & ITES and advising the Government on policy matters.
