    Brief Description:

    With the mobile penetration and usage being on an upward swing across the world, our vision is to be a technology enabler in a wire-free world connecting data source or application to any device and make the mobile phone an integrated communications device, with the ability to provide information and perform real time online transactions anytime, anywhere. USSD has been one of the core areas of Spice Digital and knowing the advantages of this technology over standard voice and SMS services, the idea to launch USSD based services would have click for many. Few strong points are as follows: – Railway customers can access information anywhere, anytime. – Customer is not restricted by Enquiry hours, lack of Railways infrastructure in a specific location or geographic boundaries. – User can access train information while he is on roaming at very reasonable rates. – One do not need internet or GPRS to access any kind of information

    Why was the project started:

    IRCTC has been formed to function as an extended arm of the Indian Railways to upgrade, professionalize and manage the catering and hospitality services. This promotes domestic and international tourism through development of budget hotels, special tour packages, information & commercial publicity and global reservation systems. Railways currently offer to customers the country wide call center which is running 24x7x365 to help the citizens of India by providing variety of basic services. All the basic services are available on a single three digit number 139. IRCTC and Spice Digital have joined hands to provide of Railway Services to the customers over USSD. Since USSD is the masses platform, thus the whole concept becomes more imperative towards the successful replication of current IRCTC services on this platform.

    Objective:  to provide the ease for all train travelers

    Target Group: Our service is currently live in Vodafone, MTNL, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Uninor. And any train traveler can use this service to enquire about their journey. In addition, we got 2.5 lakh hits till date.
