    Brief Description:

    JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur has been set up as a private University in the state of Rajasthan (India). The University is recognized by Govt. of Rajasthan and is covered u/s 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. The University has been established as a CSR initiative of the JK Organisation, which is a renowned industrial conglomerate of the country.

    Why was the project started:

    In the words of Shri Hari Shankar Singhania, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University, “Excellence comes not from mere words or procedures. It comes from an urge to strive and deliver the best every time. A mindset that says, When it is good enough, improve it. It is a way of thinking that comes only from a drive within”. Keeping this philosophy in mind, the University has been established to promote the cause of higher education in the country. The vision of the University is to create an educational environment that engages deep intellectual, moral and spiritual stimulation, thereby nurturing leadership.


    The prime objective of the initiative lies in the concern for Corporate Social Responsibility. The corporate promoters of the University are committed to the cause of excellence in higher education. The mission of the University is to Practice a ‘mentoring ‘based education system with intellectual, moral and spiritual culture of its own rooted in Indian ethos and in tune with the global vision of the time. The University is focused at inculcating learning through understanding, knowledge enhancement, skill development and positive attitude formation. It aims to encourage innovative thinking and develop a mindset for action without fear, with self-discipline and care for society.

    Target Group: The programmes offered by JKLU are open for Indian residents, foreign nationals, persons of Indian origins, children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, and Non-resident Indians.

    Geographical Reach within India: Though the focus is on imparting quality education to the people in the Asian region, the University, in the context of a global village, is open for students from the entire globe.University is getting students from different states of the country. Students of JKLU represent various states/regions, such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi and NCR, U.P., Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh etc.

    Geographical Reach outside India: Through its academic collaborations and MoUs, the University has reached out to different countries of the world, such as South Korea, UK, US, Texas, and Hungary. Academic exchanges have already started with Universities in Korea and Hungary.

    1. Mentoring based teaching and Strong industrial connect and interface.
    2. Offering dual degree integrated programmes in Management and Management+Engineering.
    3. Ultra modern and high-tech campus having high-speed Wi-fi Internet access, Videoconferencing, LCD projection systems with remote operated screens, air-conditioned classrooms, rich library with a large number of international/national journals/magazines and periodicals, ERP software, on-campus medical centre and bank with ATM facility, provision store, fully equipped gymnasium, sports complex and grounds, and community centre.
    4. Emphasis on corporate training from the very first day through world-class Management Development Centre (MDC).
    5. Highly qualified and experienced faculty members from reputed institutes of the country, such as IIMs/IITs/NITIE etc.; Opportunities for foreign visits for faculty and students under academic exchanges;Activity-driven Institution imparting value-based education ; Strong networking with institutions in UK, US, Hungary and South Korea.

    1. 100 percent summer placements for the first batch of MBA programme with leading corporate houses.
    2. Successfully organized an international Conference on IT Applications and Management in the very first year (December 28-29, 2011) with around 100 delegates and participation from various countries, such as Korea, Turkey, Thailand, China and Indonesia, apart from India.
    3. Successfully conducted more than 20 MDPs/FDPs for various corporate and academic institutions in India and abroad.
    4. Faculty members have represented the University at international forums in different countries, such as Singapore, Czechoslovakia UAE (Dubai), and Australia.
    5. Awarded with the “Best Upcoming Private University in Rajasthan” Award and Candidacy status awarded by IAO.

    1. Creating a state-of-the-art infrastructure within short span of time (Involved best of the architects, contractors, and project management consultants; No compromise with quality; Regular review meetings having representation from all stakeholders).
    2. Challenge of getting the right people on-board for the project (All recruitments and selections were done involving experts from national institutes and merit was the sole criterion; Attractive remuneration (as per 6th pay Commission recommendations) and ample opportunities for career growth)
    3. Creating a high-tech IT infrastructure with an eye on obsolescence (Scalable designs and solutions were preferred over the rigid ones).
    4. Building awareness about the University (Regular activities have been carried out for the school/college students, such as career guidance seminars, entrepreneurship seminar, HR Summit to name a few).
    5. Building brand image of the University and positioning it differently (Not compromising on merit and quality ;Selective and focused print campaign involving prominent media groups, such as TOI, HT, Dainik Bhaskar and Patrika).

    1. The University has been established with the guiding model (T2RCID model)
    2. It focuses on all five of academic excellence while respecting the merit and quality, namely:

    • Institutional Development.

    3. Others can also replicate/adapt this model and create institutions on similar lines for ensuring excellence.

    List 5 points to elaborate on the scalability of the programme/project/initiative?
    1. The University has started with two constituent institutes, namely Institute of Management and Institute of Engineering and Technology.
    2. The project is scalable in the sense that the future plan includes setting up other constituent institutes in the professional disciplines, such as Pharmacy, Sciences, Social Sciences, Languages and Law.
    3. Provisions have been made for creating physical infrastructure as per needs.
