    Brief Description:
    The rapid industrialization of the state of Maharashtra has further accentuated MIDC’s need to access an ever-increasing amount of information, facilitate real-time communication and collaboration across different agencies and address potential problems before they occur. Charted with formidable task of sanctioning, developing and maintaining industrial zones, MIDC aims to adopt smart solutions to automate and transform areas of its operations. SoftTech’s PWIMS system integrated with Mircosoft’s Axapta and Sharepoint provides a fully integrated Works Management System. This solution acts as the nerve center of operations at MIDC automating the entire cycle of planning, procurement, execution and monitoring of industrial development projects. This has led to collaborations across various departments and helped in successful completion of projects and enhance the efficiency of daily operations. A comprehensive set of functionalities including Schedule of Rates management, Estimate management, Administrative approval, Technical sanction, Drafting Tender Papers, Preparing Notice of Inviting Tenders, E-tendering, Issuing Work Order, Project Management and Billing has been automated as part of this PWIMS initiative making way for development of smart cities in Maharashtra. At the center of solution is the Financial management and Human capital management module powered by Microsoft Axapta that provides insight to make better business decisions. Assessing the success through this implementation, MIDC plans to roll out WMS in all 466 locations across Maharashtra for more than 3000 users.

    The objective of MIDC was to automate entire process of engineering department which includes preparation of estimates, administrative approvals and technical sanctions, preparation of draft tender papers and NIT, inviting and accepting tenders, managing execution of projects and finally managing billing process. The key objectives were to: • Ensure completion of projects within time and budget • Complying with statutory and laid down process as per MPWD • Availability of information across the entire Procure-to-Deliver process • Effective cost management to prevent potential budget overruns • Reduction of time in preparing reports for higher authorities • Online monitoring mechanism for managing physical and financial progress of projects
