    Brief Description:
    The rapid development of Jaipur city of Rajasthan state has further accentuated JDA’s need to access an ever-increasing amount of information, facilitate real-time communication and collaboration across different agencies and address potential problems before they occur. Charted with formidable task of sanctioning, developing and maintaining Jaipur city, JDA aims to adopt smart solutions to automate and transform areas of its operations. The prototype SoftTech’s PWIMS system customized as per the requirement of JDA and integrated with the JDA owned IT Infrastructure provides a fully integrated Engineering Project Monitoring System (PMIS). This has led to automation of various wings engaged in Engineering Development Works. A comprehensive set of functionalities including Schedule of Rates management, Estimate management, Administrative approval, Technical sanction, Drafting Tender Papers, Preparing Notice of Inviting Tenders, Issuing Work Order, Project Management and Billing has been automated as part of this PMIS initiative making way for development under e-Governance project. This application is successfully running and is available to users using Intranet and Internet with dedicated portal http://pmis.jaipurjda.org.

    Objective:
    The objective of Jaipur Development Authority was to automate entire process and monitoring of engineering works which includes preparation of estimates, administrative and Financial (A&F) approvals and technical sanctions, preparation of draft tender papers and NIT, inviting and accepting tenders, managing execution of projects and finally managing billing process. The key objectives were to: • Ensure completion of projects within time and budget • Complying with statutory and laid down process as per JDA • Availability of information across the entire Procure-to-Deliver process • Effective cost management to prevent potential budget overruns • Reduction of time in preparing reports for higher authorities • Online monitoring mechanism for managing physical and financial progress of projects

    1. Scope change: Business requirements had to be modified many times as per the requirement of the process of JDA.
